Sermon Outline
God came to be with us.
- Matthew 1:23,” Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall
call his name Immanuel (which means, God with us).” - It was prophesied in the Old Testament.
- It was fulfilled in the New Testament.
Christ is God (v. 15)
- He is the exact likeness.
- He has all the rights and responsibilities.
Christ is Creator (vv. 16-17)
- All things were created by Him.
- All things were created for Him.
- All things are held together by Him.
Christ is the creator of the Church (vv. 18-19)
- He established the church.
- He sustains the church.
- He is the power of the church.
Christ is the Savior of all mankind (v. 20)
- He alone can reconcile.
- He alone can bring peace.
Reminders to dwell on
- God is with us.
- God reminds us of His presence through Creation.
- God uses the church to carry out His plan.
- God provided our redemption through His Son.
- You are loved.
