Sermon Outline
1. David Destroys his Enemies (vv. 1-6, 13-14)
How do we handle the severity of David?
- These battles are not just land/territory squabbles.
- God does NOT rejoice in the death of people.
- Judgment is a reality.
The Lord gave victory to David wherever he went. (vv. 6,14)
Be encouraged: There will be a day when Jesus will finally destroy all his enemies and rule over all.
Be encouraged: Jesus has even defeated death.
2. David dedicates the spoils to the true king (vv. 7-12)
Be encouraged: There will be a day when Jesus will finally be recognized as Lord and king
over all.
3. The nature of David’s Rule (vv. 15-18)
Be encouraged: There will be a day when Jesus’ perfectly just and righteous reign will be fully realized.
Be challenged: As children of the King, we ought to reflect the nature of his kingdom.
