Why Global Missions?
1. Because God’s heart has always been for the nations (v. 6-8)
- NT: (Luke 24:46-47, Matt. 28:19-20, Mark 13:10, 16:15, Rev. 7:9-10)
- OT: (Gen. 12:1-3, Ex. 14:4, Dan. 3:29, Dan. 6:26)
How can I grow my heart for the nations?
- Get informed
- Pray
- Give sacrificially
- Adopt a missionary
- Give timely help
- Short-term trip or Work team
2. Because Jesus sends us as his Ambassadors (v.8)
- Jesus was not making a suggestion. He was giving us marching orders.
- How are we doing living as “sent ones”…right here in our own Jerusalem?
- Pray
- Let them know you’re a Christian
- Answer questions and share the gospel
3. Because Jesus is coming back and the job is not done yet (v. 9-11)
- When Jesus comes back will he find us distracted?
- Stop gazing. Get going!
