BIG IDEA: 4 key characteristics of an environment where explosive gospel growth happens.

1. Is established by prayerful, hard-working followers of Jesus (Epaphras)

• Established by prayer (v.12-13)
  • QUESTION: Do you pray for others like Epaphras?
  • QUESTION: Do you have others praying for you like this?
• Established by hard work (v.12-13)

2. Is often marked by failure (Demas) v.14

• Reminder #1: There will always be deserters.
  • Warning: Don’t become a Demas
  • QUESTION: Are there things that are pulling me away from my passion to follow Jesus?
  • Encouragement: You are not alone
• Reminder #2: Failure happens, but it does not need to be final.

3. Is moved forward by focusing on God-given roles (Archippus)

• QUESTION: Are you focusing on what God wants you to do here and now?

4. Often Thrives in the soup of crisis (my chains)

• Stand firm in the midst of a tough culture.
• Look to Jesus.
