1. Peter’s Frailty and Disloyalty
v. 26:69-75
- In the heat of the moment Peter disowns Jesus.
- Do you ever at times find yourself sitting in the courtyard with Peter?
2. Judas’ Treachery
v. 27:3-5
- Judas commits an intentional, premeditated act of betrayal.
- Do you ever find yourself at the temple with Judas?
3. The Sanhedrin’s Conspiracy
v. 27:1-2, 6-7
- These guys hated Jesus w/everything they had.
- Have you ever found yourself at the table with the Sanhedrin?
4. God’s Sovereignty
v. 8-10
- God’s fingerprints are all over Jesus’ betrayal, arrest, denial, conviction, death
- Acts 2:23: “this Jesus, [was] delivered up (handed over) according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God…….”
Final Questions
- Have you trusted in Christ for salvation?
- Can you identify ways in which you disown Christ?
