Big Idea: Embracing Jesus’ Majesty gives us strength and confidence to follow Him.

1. The Big Reveal (v. 1-3)

• Jesus is God Himself
• Know Jesus…Know God
• The OT finds it’s fulfillment in Christ. (Luke 24:27).

2. The Response to the Big Reveal (v.4-8)

• Wrong Response: Let’s stay here!
• Right Response: Fell on their faces in fear!
  
  • How long has it been since I’ve been so captivated by the Majesty of Jesus that I am
    speechless?

3. Lingering Questions (v.7-13)

• Why Elijah?
• Why does he keep talking about rising from the dead?
• The cross has to come before the glory

4. Lingering Effects (2 Peter 1:16-19)

• The significance of the transfiguration was not just to show us Jesus in his glory but it was a sneak preview for when Jesus is recognized as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
• Embrace God’s Word

Key Questions

1. Who do I say that Jesus is?
2. Is my Jesus too small? What do I need to do to remind myself of the Majesty of Jesus?
3. How is my expectation of Jesus returning in glory making a difference in how I am living today?
