Sermon Outline

The Setting (vv. 1-3)

When we don’t know what to do next, we often go back to what’s familiar.

The Empty Nets (vv. 3-5)

Luke 5:1-11 (ESV)

Sometimes failure is God’s way of emptying our nets so He can fill them His way.

The Miracle (vv. 6-8)

V. 6 - “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it, and now they are not able to haul it in, because of the quantity of fish...”

Jesus doesn’t just change our mood, he miraculously renews our mind.

Breakfast is Served (vv. 9-14)

“When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire in place, with fish laid out on it, and bread.”

More than Breakfast

Empty nets remind us of our inability.
A miraculous catch reminds us of His power.
Breakfast on the shore reminds us of His grace.
