Sermon Outline

The Center of the story:

A pagan, prostitute woman, professes faith in the God of Israel, the God of the Bible (vv. 8-11)

Rahab’s Conversion Shows us that:

1. No One is Beyond the Reach of God’s Mercy and Grace. (1 Timothy 1:15-16)

1. She was a Gentile
2. She was a Pagan
3. She was a Prostitute

2. Real Change is Possible (vv. 8-11, Joshua 6:25, Hebrews 11:30-31, James 2:25, Titus 2:11-14)

1. She put herself at risk (12-21)
2. She kept her word and followed through (6:17)
3. She continued to live in Israel (6:25)
4. She married into a prominent Israelite family (Matt. 1:5)

3. God Can Use Anyone or Anything to Accomplish His Purposes (Matthew 1:1-6a)

1. God is not afraid of dysfunction
2. Our lives are not at the mercy of some impersonal fate
