Who Are We Called to Love? (vv. 11,14)

• We are called to love those who are also followers of Jesus.
• This does not mean we are not to love others.
• When we love each other well, the world takes notice.

Who Are We Going to be Hated By? (vv. 12-13, 14-15)

• Those who pursue evil - Cain
• Those who are jealous
• Those who embrace the world’s moral code
• Those who have never embraced Christ’s love but are controlled by hate

How is Real Love Shown? (vv. 16-18)

• By following Christ’s example
• By living led by compassion
• By living a life led by truth

Questions to Consider

• Who are you only able to love through Christ’s love?
• Is your life characterized by love or hate?
• Have you embraced the only One who can give you life through His love?
• What is one way you can live out His love, compassion and truth this week?
