Why Global Missions?

1. Because God’s heart has always been for the nations (v. 6-8)

• NT: (Luke 24:46-47, Matt. 28:19-20, Mark 13:10, 16:15, Rev. 7:9-10)
• OT: (Gen. 12:1-3, Ex. 14:4, Dan. 3:29, Dan. 6:26)

How can I grow my heart for the nations?

• Get informed
• Pray
• Give sacrificially
• Adopt a missionary
• Give timely help
• Short-term trip or Work team

2. Because Jesus sends us as his Ambassadors (v.8)

• Jesus was not making a suggestion. He was giving us marching orders.
• How are we doing living as “sent ones”…right here in our own Jerusalem?
  
  • Pray
  • Let them know you’re a Christian
  • Answer questions and share the gospel

3. Because Jesus is coming back and the job is not done yet (v. 9-11)

• When Jesus comes back will he find us distracted?
• Stop gazing. Get going!
