Main Point: Worship the King - He is Mighty Lion & Loving Lamb

Intro: The waiting posture of God’s people

• The curse of sin comes with a promise (Gen 3)
• Israel waited for the promise to be fulfilled for 4,000 years

1. Judah, the son & Jesse, the stump (Gen 49:8-10)

• God’s people hoped in Judah, the lion
• After Jesse, hope seemed lost

2. Lamentations of a Weary World (Lam 1:1-5)

• The Great City was turned desolate
• God’s people were defeated & exiled, without hope in the world

3. The Weary World Rejoices, Our God Reigns (Is 52:7-10)

• How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news
• The LORD comforts and redeems His people

Application: Jesus, the Son, the Warrior Lion & the Slain Lamb (Rev 5:5-14)

• Weep no more, the Lion of Judah has come as the conqueror
• Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, His people are ransomed
• The humble and rejoicing posture of God’s people
